Gunmen believed to be kidnappers have taken hostage the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 5, Ifon, located in the Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, Nelson Adepoyigi.
The abduction reportedly took place on Monday evening at the entrance of his farm along the Ifon-Owo Road.

Community sources indicate that the assailants have contacted the victim’s family, demanding a ransom of N100 million for his release.
DSP Olusola Ayanlade, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, confirmed the incident in a statement released to the media in Akure, the state capital, on Tuesday.
The statement noted, “Upon receiving the report, the DPO (in) Ifon, in collaboration with hunters, local vigilance members, and Nigeria Army personnel, has launched a manhunt for the suspects.”
Ayanlade urged the public to provide any information that could aid in the rescue efforts to the police.
He also encouraged residents of the state to stay alert and report any suspicious activities in their areas to the police for immediate action.
