The Progressives Governors’ Forum on Thursday expressed unanimous support for President Bola Tinubu, formally endorsing him in a move that was subsequently adopted by the party’s national leadership.
Governors elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) brought forward the endorsement during the party’s national summit held at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Speaking on behalf of his colleagues, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State—who also serves as the Forum’s Chairman—stated that the APC governors are fully satisfied with the outcome of the midterm assessment and the performance metrics associated with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“We acknowledge the resolution of these governors that Mr President carries our flag in 2027 and the governors take responsibility for delivering this mandate in their states,” Uzodimma said.
Following his remarks, Uzodimma invited the Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, to formally second the motion endorsing President Tinubu as the APC’s flag bearer for the 2027 general elections.
He then subjected the motion to a voice vote, which received overwhelming approval from the party leaders in attendance, signaling their collective backing of the President for a second term.
