Dangote Refinery lowers ex-depot petrol price to N970 per litre

Date:

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has taken a step to alleviate fuel costs by reducing the ex-depot price of premium motor spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.

The new price is set at N970 per litre, a decrease from the previous rate of N990 per litre.

This price reduction is expected to benefit oil marketers, who will now purchase petrol from the Lekki-based refinery at a lower cost.

Anthony Chiejina, the Group’s Chief Branding and Communications Officer, explained in a statement on Sunday that the decision to lower the price is a token of appreciation to Nigerians for their support in making the refinery a reality.

“In addition, this is to thank the government for their support as this will complement the measures put in place to encourage domestic enterprise for our collective well-being,” the statement reads.

“While the refinery would not compromise on the quality of its petroleum products, we assure you of best quality products that are environmentally friendly and sustainable.

“We are determined to keep ramping up production to meet and surpass our domestic fuel consumption; thus, dispelling any fear of a shortfall in supply.”
