Date:

The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has announced a profit after tax of N905 billion for June 2025, according to its Monthly Report Summary released Monday night in Abuja.

The latest figure represents a decrease compared to the N1.054 trillion profit recorded in May.

Despite this decline, the state-owned oil giant disclosed that it remitted N6.961 trillion to the Federation Account between January and May 2025—an increase from the N5.583 trillion remitted in the preceding four months.

The June report also highlighted a consistent upturn in upstream operations, with crude oil and condensate production averaging 1.68 million barrels per day—the highest daily output since the beginning of the year.

This marks an uptick from May’s output of 1.629 million barrels per day.

NNPC’s June revenue was reported at N4.571 trillion, down from N6.008 trillion in May. The company attributed this revenue drop to shifts in global oil market conditions.

Natural gas production showed a similar recovery trend, reaching 7.581 billion standard cubic feet per day (scf/d) in June, a rise from 7.352 billion scf/d in May.

In terms of product availability, the report showed a marked improvement in the supply of petrol.

Availability at NNPC-operated filling stations rose to 71 percent in June, up from 62 percent in May.

Key infrastructure projects also made significant headway. The Ajaokuta–Kaduna–Kano (AKK) pipeline achieved 83 percent completion, up from 81 percent, while the OB3 pipeline held steady at 96 percent.

However, upstream pipeline availability slightly declined from 98 percent in May to 97 percent in June.NNPC confirmed major milestones on strategic projects, including the successful crossing of the AKK segment across the River Niger—a development expected to facilitate project completion.

Technical assessments are also underway for the OB3 River Niger crossing, incorporating lessons from the AKK’s progress.

Simultaneously, rehabilitation reviews of the Port Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna refineries are ongoing.

On the Corporate Social Responsibility front, NNPC’s Financial Literacy Programme in June reached over 67,000 members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). This brings the total number of beneficiaries to 870,383.

These developments underline NNPC’s vital role in supporting the federal government’s finances during a period of heightened fiscal challenges and economic reform.
