BBN’s Doyin speaks out against sexualization of women

Date:

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Doyin David, has condemned the habit of men sexualizing women upon first meeting them, stating that it reduces them to their physical attributes rather than recognizing them as whole individuals.

During a recent appearance on the talk show ‘Thanks For Coming’ hosted by Grand Prince Ita, Doyin expressed her frustration with men who prioritize physical attraction over getting to know a woman’s personality, values and character.

Doyin stressed that although she believes sex is important, she wants to be seen as a complete person who has more to her than her physical attributes.

She said “Most times when a guy meets a girl, it’s very easy for them to s3xualise her. What’s s3x going to look like with this person, without getting to know the person. S3x is important to me, but I’m a whole human being outside of my vagina.”

Doyin’s comments come as she shares her thoughts on dating in Nigeria, which she describes as ‘hectic’.

She revealed that it has been a couple of months since she last went on a date, citing the challenges of navigating the dating scene in the country. “Dating in Nigeria these days is an extreme sport. It’s hectic” she said.

While Doyin acknowledged that she is open to being submissive in a relationship, she emphasized that it would only be with the right person.

“I will be submissive for the right man,” she said, adding that her ideal partner should possess traits such as active listening and a willingness to adjust his behavior based on her concerns.
