Boxing: Why I lost to Portable – Speed Darlington

Date:

Nigerian entertainer Darlington Okoye, widely known as Speed Darlington, has made allegations against fellow musician Badmus Okikiola (Portable) following their recent celebrity boxing match.

He claims that supernatural elements influenced their bout at the “Chaos In The Ring” event.

The boxing showcase, which took place on Saturday, was organized by Game Rush in partnership with Balmoral Promotions.

The event follows their previous boxing exhibition held in December 2024 and the introduction of Friday Fight Night earlier this year.

Meanwhile, In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), Speed Darlington expressed bewilderment over a shoulder injury he sustained during the match.

He claimed his shoulder was dislocated unexpectedly, despite not feeling particularly exhausted. “I was feeling strong throughout the fight, but suddenly my shoulder gave out in a way that doesn’t make sense,” Speed Darlington stated in the video.

“Something unnatural happened in that ring.” The artist insinuated that Portable may have used traditional spiritual practices, commonly known as “juju” in Nigerian culture, to gain an advantage in the fight.

Breakingng.com reports that Portable defeated Speed Darlington in a technical knockout.

It was gathered that the rivalry between the two musicians intensified after Speed Darlington allegedly offered Portable ₦500,000 for a performance appearance, an amount Portable reportedly considered disrespectful given his status in the music scene.
