Craig David collaborates with Tiwa Savage on new single

Date:

British R&B veteran, Craig David, has collaborated with Nigerian songster, Tiwa Savage, for his new single ‘Commitment’.

In a recent interview with Capital Xtra podcast, David gushed about Savage’s contributions to Afrobeats, calling her a “consistent and talented force” in the music industry.

David’s admiration for Savage led to a collaboration on his new song “Commitment”, which was 70% complete when he asked his team to suggest a feature artist. They unanimously agreed on Savage, and David was thrilled.

He said “I have been a big fan of Tiwa for years. When it comes to Afrobeats, she has been holding it down for so long. She is not just consistent; she is also an amazing vocalist.”

The collaboration was a dream come true for David, who was blown away by Savage’s talent and graciousness.

“Meeting her for the first time was everything I could have imagined and more. She is so gracious, and her talent is just insane,” he added.

“I knew it was love when she said ‘even if the song was not that great, I still would have jumped on it’. She got on the track, and next thing you know, we had this amazing song that perfectly blends our worlds.

“It went from fire emojis to voice notes. The way her ad-libs hit? It was next level. We were both gassed.

“Meeting her for the first time was everything I could have imagined and more. She is so gracious, and her talent is just insane. She is like, ‘Yeah, it’s good stuff,’ and I’m like, ‘No, you’re the good stuff!’” he added.

The song “Commitment” is a perfect blend of their styles, and it’s clear that David and Savage have a deep respect for each other’s artistry.
