Diddy Arrested in New York Amid Sexual Assault Lawsuits

Date:

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, the prominent hip-hop mogul, has been arrested in New York City on unspecified federal charges.
The 54-year-old rapper was taken into custody by officers from Homeland Security Investigations on Monday at the Park Hyatt New York, a luxury hotel on 57th Street.

Damian Williams, the US attorney for the Southern District of New York, confirmed the arrest in a statement shared via X.
While the specific charges have not yet been disclosed, Williams stated that “we expect to unseal the indictment in the morning and will provide further details at that time.”

Diddy has faced mounting legal challenges since November 2023, following multiple sexual assault lawsuits, including one from his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, who accused him of assault.

In addition, Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones, a former producer for Diddy, filed a lawsuit alleging sexual harassment, drugging, and threats spanning over a year.

Earlier this year, in March, the United States Department of Homeland Security raided two properties connected to the rapper. In May, a video surfaced showing Combs assaulting Cassie in 2016.

Though Diddy initially denied Cassie’s allegations, he later issued a public apology, expressing deep regret. He stated, “I am truly sorry,” and acknowledged that his actions were “inexcusable.”

Recently, a Michigan inmate was awarded $100 million by default judgment in a sexual assault lawsuit against Diddy, further intensifying the legal troubles surrounding the rapper.
