The family of late actress and social media influencer Monalisa Ayobami Stephen has announced her burial plans following her sudden death on May 13, 2025.
According to a statement shared on her verified Instagram page, Monalisa’s final rites will begin on Thursday, May 22, 2025, with a private interment scheduled for noon.
Monalisa, a model, fashion designer, and body positivity advocate, passed away in Lagos after battling low blood sugar and internal bleeding. Her death was first announced by Seun Oloketuyi, founder of the Best of Nollywood Awards, via Instagram.
The late actress was known for sparking debates on body image, mental health, and self-love. She had previously opened up about struggling with depression and mental health issues, as well as her experiences with diabetes since childhood.
Fans and followers have taken to social media to pay their last respects and express their shock at her passing.
