Tanzanian-Nigerian singer Juma Jux, has shared the emotional journey he undertook to guide his wife, Priscilla Ojo, towards embracing Islam before their highly anticipated wedding.
In a recent interview with Afrikmedia, Juma Jux reflected on the challenges of supporting Priscilla, daughter of Nigerian actress, Iyabo Ojo, through a significant religious transformation.
Juma Jux credited his success in guiding Priscilla to the patience and support he received from Islamic scholars and mentors.
He emphasised the importance of a gentle approach, noting that he was advised to engage Priscilla in thoughtful discussions about Islam rather than rushing her into conversion.
The singer further revealed that it took time and effort to help Priscilla understand and accept the faith.
He said, “I knew everything when it came to my wedding. I had dreamt about it and I was so lucky to find someone who also wanted the same thing as me.
“It was a little bit difficult convincing her, but I was receiving lessons from religious leaders and people who are keen about Islam. So they told me that there was a way that I could convince my wife to join the religion.
“They said I should go with her slowly, teach her this and that, tell her this and that, although it took time but she later understood.”
