Kanye West blames Taylor Swift for Super Bowl snub

Date:

Kanye West has sparked controversy by claiming that Taylor Swift is one of the reasons he has never been selected to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show.

In a now-deleted social media post, West cited the infamous 2009 MTV Music Video Awards incident, where he stormed the stage during Swift’s acceptance speech, as one of the reasons for his exclusion.

West also blamed his support for Donald Trump, evident in his wearing of a “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) hat, and his 2005 comments about George Bush not caring about Black people.

West wrote “I never was allowed to do the Super Bowl because of three moments. George Bush don’t care about Black people. The Taylor Swift movement moment. Wearing a MAGA hat.

“How it feels to be the best living and blocked from the main stage because of being ahead of my time. (And I mean all of this before I went full Nazi of course).”

The feud between West and Swift dates back to 2009, with tensions escalating further in 2016 over West’s song ‘Famous’. West’s comments have reignited the long-standing feud between the two artists.

This is not the first time West has made headlines for his controversial comments.

Recently, he has been involved in a public spat with Jay-Z and other celebrities, accusing them of betraying him.

West’s comments about Jay-Z’s family have been particularly contentious, with reports emerging that Jay-Z and Beyoncé may consider legal action against him.

The music world remains divided on West’s actions, with some defending his artistic freedom and others criticizing his behavior. As West continues to court controversy, his legacy as a musician and artist remains a topic of debate.
