“My House is Flooded” – Ex-BBNaija star Alex Unusual cries out after Lagos downpour

Date:

Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Alexandra Asogwa, popularly known as Alex Unusual, has taken to her Instagram page to share her anguish after her home was devastated by the heavy downpour that hit parts of Lagos on Tuesday night.

In a heartfelt post, the reality star lamented the severe impact of the rain, revealing that her personal belongings – including home appliances, books, gadgets, and work equipment – were destroyed as floodwaters entered her residence in the Lekki Phase 1 area in Lagos.

“My house is flooded,” she wrote in a visibly emotional tone. “My appliances? TV, ACs, all my books, mattress, bed, hard drives, work tools, gadgets, etc. ruined.”

Alex, 29, known for her vibrant personality and outspoken nature, had days earlier shared her concerns on social media about the dangers the rain poses, especially to the less privileged.

In a twist of cruel irony, she now finds herself personally affected.“I posted about disliking the rain a few days ago for what it does to the less privileged,” she recalled.

“I’m not less privileged in my opinion, but it still found a way to traumatize me.”

Trying to keep her spirits up, Alex Unusual ended her post with a bittersweet remark: “Let me be laughing so I don’t cry.”

Her post has since sparked a wave of sympathy and solidarity from fans and fellow celebrities who flooded her comment section with messages of support and encouragement.

As Lagos continues to battle infrastructural challenges and the recurring menace of flooding during the rainy season, Alex’s story is a stark reminder that natural disasters know no status – they strike indiscriminately, leaving emotional and financial damage in their wake.
