Nigerian superstar, Wizkid, has achieved another milestone in his illustrious career, with his fourth LP ‘Made In Lagos’ surpassing 1 billion streams on Spotify.
The album’s deluxe version, released in August 2021, has garnered massive success, largely thanks to the global hit ‘Essence’, which has racked up over 400 million streams.
With this feat, Wizkid now joins Rema (Rave & Roses), Burna Boy (Love, Damini), Ayra Starr (The Year I Turned 21), and Omah Lay (Boy Alone), fellow Nigerian stars with albums that have surpassed a billion Spotify streams.
The album features collaborations with notable artists such as Burna Boy, H.E.R., and Damian Marley, among others, and it showcases Wizkid’s ability to fuse Pop, Afrobeats, and R&B seamlessly.
‘Made In Lagos’ won several awards and earned multiple certifications, cementing its place as one of Nigeria’s greatest albums of the 21st century.
Wizkid’s career spans over a decade, with a string of successful projects, including ‘More Love, Less Ego’, ‘Soundman Vol 2’ EP, and his latest album ‘Morayo’. His contributions to the music industry have solidified his position as one of Nigeria’s greatest musicians.
