Appeal court upholds death sentence for Adedoyin

Date:

The Court of Appeal in Akure, Ondo State, has upheld the death sentence imposed on Chief Ramon Adedoyin, the owner of Hilton Hotels, for the murder of Mr. Timothy Adegoke, a student at Obafemi Awolowo University.

Adedoyin was convicted by an Osun State High Court and sentenced to death after being found guilty of Adegoke’s killing. The student was allegedly murdered at Adedoyin’s Hilton Hotel on November 5, 2021.

Justice Adepele Ojo had earlier sentenced Adedoyin, along with two of his employees, Adeniyi Aderogba and Oyetunde Kazeem, to death by hanging.

The lower court ruled that Adedoyin’s refusal to testify in his defense implied his acceptance of the charges brought against him, including the murder of Adegoke.
