Former President Muhammadu Buhari was laid to rest this Tuesday evening at his private residence in Daura, Katsina State, following Islamic funeral rites.
The solemn ceremony, which saw his body committed to Mother Earth at about 5:50 p.m., was attended by a host of national and international dignitaries.
Among those present were President Bola Tinubu, President Umaro Sissoco Embaló of Guinea-Bissau, and Niger Republic Prime Minister Ali Lamine Zeine.

They were joined by family members, top Nigerian government officials, and other prominent figures who gathered to pay their final respects.
Buhari, who passed away on Sunday, July 13, in London at the age of 82 after a brief illness, had his remains received earlier in Nigeria by President Bola Tinubu.
His body arrived in Daura at approximately 4:33 p.m. in a military ambulance. Accompanying the late president’s body were President Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda, National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, businessman Aliko Dangote, former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, and a retinue of other dignitaries.
