Just In: APC sweeps Lagos LG elections, wins 57 chairmanship seats

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has recorded a landslide victory in the July 12 local government elections in Lagos State, securing all 57 chairmanship seats and 375 out of 376 councillorship positions.

Chairman of the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC), Justice Mobolanle Abidemi Okikiolu-Ighile (Rtd.), announced the results during a press briefing on Sunday afternoon, noting that the only councillorship seat not won by the APC was in Yaba Local Council Development Area (LCDA), which was clinched by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
