Just In: Ondo SSG passes away

Date:

Tayo Oluwatuyi, the Secretary to the Ondo State Government, has died while receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Akure, the state capital.

The senior government official, affectionately known as ‘Tukana’ among colleagues and constituents, had recently survived a serious automobile accident just weeks before his passing.

Multiple sources within the state government, speaking on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to discuss the matter publicly, confirmed Oluwatuyi’s death.

The Ondo State Government has yet to release an official statement regarding the Secretary’s passing.

The late Secretary’s death comes as a shock to many in the state, particularly given his apparent recovery progress following the auto crash. Oluwatuyi had been receiving treatment at a private medical facility in Akure, where medical staff had been monitoring his condition closely.

“The news has left many of us devastated,” said a senior civil servant who worked closely with Oluwatuyi. “He was showing signs of improvement after the accident, and we were all looking forward to his return to office.”

The Ondo State Government is expected to release an official statement in the coming hours, with details about funeral arrangements and succession plans for the crucial position of Secretary to the State Government.
