In a sweeping victory, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has clinched all chairmanship and councillorship positions across the 30 local government areas of Osun State.
The announcement came on Saturday from Hashim Abioye, Chairman of the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC), during a briefing in Osogbo.
Governor Ademola Adeleke, who cast his vote earlier in the day, praised the peaceful and orderly conduct of the elections, expressing gratitude to the people of Osun for ensuring a smooth process at polling units statewide.

The elections, however, were marred by controversy.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) boycotted the poll, citing the reinstatement of a chairman from their party by the Appeal Court in 2023.
Additionally, the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), warned the state government against proceeding with the election, deeming it illegal.
Despite these challenges, the state government pressed forward with the elections, which saw only the PDP participating, leading to their landslide win.
