In a significant breakthrough, two more suspects have been arrested in connection with the abduction of Mrs. A. Odumosu, wife of retired Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Hakeem Odumosu.
The arrests were made by the Lagos State Commissioner of Police Special Squad on Friday morning as the suspects attempted to flee Lagos.
Mrs. Odumosu was kidnapped on the evening of January 16 at her residence in Arepo, Lagos, by four masked men.
The police had previously announced her rescue from a forest in Ikorodu, where a gunfight ensued, resulting in the deaths of two suspects. Authorities also recovered N10 million, firearms, and ammunition during the operation.

The newly arrested suspects, Agbojule Smart, 27, and Keleke Michael, 30, were caught with N2.25 million in cash, believed to be part of the ransom demand. During questioning, both men confessed to being members of the kidnapping gang, two of whom had already been neutralized by police.
A statement from the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the recovery of two locally made rifles and 11 live cartridges from the suspects.
“The suspects have admitted to their involvement in the abduction,” Adejobi said, adding that the money and weapons were seized during their arrest.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun commended the officers for their swift action, praising their professionalism in apprehending the criminals.
He reiterated the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to ensuring public safety and reducing crime nationwide.
“The Nigeria Police Force remains dedicated to fighting crime and fostering peace across the country,” he added.
