The Sole Administrator of Rivers State, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, has asked the Heads of Local Government Administration, HLGAs, in the state’s 23 local government areas to submit reports on the operations of their councils.
Ibas directed that the HLGAs appointed by the suspended governor, Siminalayi Fubara, submit their reports to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Local Governance Affairs.
This decision was delivered in a letter dated March 24, 2025, and signed by Itong Awani, Permanent Secretary.
The required submissions include: functions of the councils, the number of staff on the nominal roll, sources of revenue for the LGAs, and other relevant details.
According to the letter, the HLGAs are expected to submit their reports on or before Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
