Strong indications have emerged that Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), representing Kogi Central, has been removed as Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Diaspora and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs).
The decision, reportedly taken by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, leaves Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan without any committee leadership role in the current Senate.
Her removal marks the second time she has been stripped of a committee position. In February, she was replaced as Chair of the Senate Committee on Local Content and reassigned to head the Diaspora and NGOs Committee. With the latest change, she will now resume legislative duties without chairing any committee.
