Voting has officially commenced at Polling Unit 006, located at St. Stephens Nursery and Primary School, Adeniji Adele, Lagos Island, where Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is anticipated to cast his ballot in the ongoing local government elections.

Officials from the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) were present at the polling unit as early as 8:00 AM, the stipulated time for the start of the exercise to elect chairmen and councillors across the state’s 20 Local Government Areas (LGAs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs).
Early voters, including the Governor’s media aide, Jubril Gawat, have already exercised their civic duty at the unit. A visible presence of police officers is ensuring security and order at the polling station.
The local government elections are being conducted across all designated LGAs and LCDAs in Lagos State today.
