Bobrisky arrested at Seme border

Date:

Controversial crossdresser, Idris Okuneye popularly known as Bobrisky, has been arrested at Seme border by the Benin Republic Immigration Service during passport checks.

Premium Times reports on Monday that a source at the Nigerian-Benin Republic border confirmed the arrest.

“He was arrested at midnight and detained until this (Monday) morning, and he’s currently being moved to the Lagos zone of the NIS in Ikeja,” the source was quoted as saying.

Earlier in the day, social media personality, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, broke the news of Bobrisky’s arrest on Instagram.

“Bobrisky was arrested this morning at the Seme border while trying to enter Benin Republic to escape the current investigation by the House of Reps.

“He is allegedly being held by Nigerian immigration…Let’s wait for Bob to debunk this,” VeryDarkMan wrote.

Bobrisky was scheduled to appear before a panel set up by the House of Representatives to investigate the bribery allegations he made against officials of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

In audio recordings posted online by VeryDarkMan, Bobrisky claimed he paid some EFCC officials N15 million to drop money laundering charge against him.

He also claimed he was to pay correctional officials to help him serve his prison sentence for abuse of the naira outside prison walls.
