I have nothing left, says ailing Nollywood actor Don Richard battling

Date:

In a deeply moving video shared online on Tuesday, July 29, veteran Nollywood actor Richards Oguntimehin, popularly known as Don Richard, made a heartfelt plea to Nigerians for help as he continues to battle a life-threatening kidney condition.

The emotional clip, posted by actress and talk show host Biola Bayo, captured Don Richard speaking openly about the toll his illness has taken on his life and that of his family.

According to the actor, he has already spent everything he owns on medical treatment — including selling his ₦1.5 million car and even his home — in a desperate attempt to fund his healthcare.

“When my wife heard about my health, she cried. I told her, ‘Another man is a lucky man,’ and begged her to take care of our twins,” he said in the video. “She later sold our house and car to fund my treatment. I have nothing left now.”

Biola Bayo, who also included Don Richard’s account details for those willing to donate, noted that the actor had been battling the illness quietly for a while. She said he first began experiencing serious health complications shortly after quitting smoking and drinking — a move he believed would better his life.

This isn’t Don Richard’s first time speaking about his condition, but this most recent appeal has stirred a wave of empathy and concern from the public.
