Miss Osun, Joy Raimi, crowned Miss World Nigeria 2025

Date:

The reigning Miss Osun, Joy Mojisola Raimi, has been crowned Miss World Nigeria 2025.

The grand finale took place at the Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos, where 37 contestants competed for the top spot.

The event featured various rounds, including: introduction round, cultural costume parade, evening gown round, question and answer segment, and beauty with a purpose presentation.

Raimi stood out among the finalists, which included Oluwatoyin Ibitoye (Miss Kogi), Shelly Usman (Miss Imo), Mmesoma Anosike (Miss Adamawa); Deborah Anosike (Miss Abia), and Mercy Jessica (Miss Abuja).

Raimi’s winning moment was marked by her inspiring story of overcoming bullying.

Growing up without a mother, she faced harassment from her caregiver, who doubted her potential.

Her words “As a child who grew up without a mother, I was intimidated and harassed by my caregiver who was supposed to stand in as my mother.

“She told me I would never amount to anything. But here I am today, on this world stage, doing what I know how to do best. All I can say is whatever God has destined you to be, nobody can say otherwise.”

As Miss World Nigeria 2025, Raimi will represent Nigeria at the 72nd Miss World pageant in Hyderabad, India, competing against 140 countries from May 7 to 31.

The pageant aims to celebrate beauty, culture, and purpose, with a focus on philanthropy, women’s empowerment, and national representation.
