The Nigeria Police Force has apprehended 130 individuals, including 113 foreign nationals—comprising 87 men and 26 women, predominantly from China and Malaysia—alongside 17 Nigerian accomplices (4 men and 13 women).
They are suspected of engaging in serious cybercrimes, hacking, and activities that pose a threat to national security.
This operation was executed during a coordinated raid on a building in the Next Cash and Carry area of Jahi, Abuja, where the suspects were allegedly utilising advanced computers and technology to conduct their illicit activities.
The raid took place on Saturday, November 3, 2024, under the leadership of AIG Benneth Igweh, Assistant Inspector-General of Police for Zone 7 Headquarters, Abuja.
Officers from the Nigeria Police Force Zone 7 Command and the National Cyber Crime Centre (NPF-NCCC) participated in the operation.
Authorities are currently investigating the case and conducting scientific analysis on the evidence seized. The suspects will face court charges once the investigations are complete.
