The father of Timilehin Ajayi, the gospel singer arrested in connection with the brutal killing of NYSC member Salome Adaidu, has made a public appeal for his son’s release.
Ajayi, who was found with the severed head of Adaidu in a polythene bag, was arrested in the aftermath of the grisly murder.
The incident, which has shocked the nation, occurred in Agwan Sarki, Orozo, a community located on the outskirts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Following his arrest, Ajayi was remanded by a Nasarawa State High Court as investigations into the case continue.
In an interview with Channels Television, Ajayi’s father expressed deep concern and sorrow over the arrest, urging authorities to release his son.
“I am pleading for the release of my son, as I still cannot understand how this situation has unfolded,” he said, visibly emotional.
While Ajayi’s family grapples with the harrowing events, the family of the late Salome Adaidu remains in mourning, calling for justice in the wake of her tragic death.
The case has drawn widespread attention, with many closely following developments as both families confront unimaginable pain.
Ajayi, whose career as a gospel singer had earned him a modest following, now faces serious charges.
“I want government to help me so that the matter is settled. I want them to help me beg so that he is released” He said

During questioning, Timilehin Ajayi, a gospel singer and self-proclaimed motivational speaker on TikTok, confessed to the crime of killing Salome Adaidu, a National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) member.
In a now-viral video, Ajayi explained that he had been in a one-year relationship with Adaidu before her death. He claimed that an argument between them escalated into violence when Adaidu allegedly attempted to stab him with a knife.
Ajayi, who gained some recognition with his 2020 album God of the Earth, further revealed that the rest of Adaidu’s body was located at his residence.
Adaidu’s remains has since been interred, as captured in a viral video showing a group of men performing the burial while the sounds of mournful weeping could be heard in the background.
