Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the death of a Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Ijanikin Police Station, CSP Bolaji Olugbenga.
According to reports, the DPO slumped in the office and died before he could be rushed to a hospital on Thursday night.
It was learned that the news of his death threw the officers attached to the station into mourning.
The body of the officer has been moved to a mortuary.
On Friday night, spokesman of Lagos State Police Command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the death of CSP Olugbenga to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
Hundeyin, however, did not give details of the cause of his death.
