Lagos police begin probe into viral video of alleged kidnappers

The Lagos State Police Command has launched an investigation into the activities of three individuals seen in a viral video, who are suspected of being involved in kidnapping.

The video, which recently circulated on social media, shows the three suspects allegedly apprehended by residents in Victory Estate, Ago Palace, Lagos.

In the footage, the suspects are seen being interrogated, during which they purportedly confessed to being kidnappers.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the Police Public Relations Officer for Lagos State, shared the video on his official X account on Wednesday.

While Hundeyin noted that the incident had not been officially reported to the police, he confirmed that an investigation had been initiated to probe the matter.

He wrote, “Investigations have commenced to unravel what truly transpired, locate the men and take further necessary actions.

“The estate chairman, two other exco members and a resident are currently assisting the Police with the ongoing investigations.

“Further updates will be provided in due course.”
