Lagos police launch manhunt for father over assault on children

Date:

Police in Lagos have begun searching for Kadiri Yusuf, also known as Alado, who is accused of assaulting two of his children in the Orile Agege area of the state.

The case was reported to the police by the head teacher of a primary school.

Yusuf, 48, allegedly inflicted severe bodily injuries on his children aged 11 and 13.

Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the details of the incident, stating that around 5 pm on Friday, October 18, the head teacher discovered that one of her pupils had serious wounds all over her body shortly after 7 am that same day.

Hundeyin noted, “The teacher further claimed that upon inquiry, the little girl of about 11 years confided in her how her father, one Kadiri Yusuf alias Alado, used to beat her.”

He added, “The little girl also confided in her teacher that her father also beat up her elder brother, whose age was also put at 13.”

The victims have been rescued, treated and placed in the custody of their sister.

The suspect, however, fled his home before the police arrived.
