Man allegedly hires thugs to beat daughter’s boyfriend to death in Delta

Date:

A Delta State father identified as Okandeji is now in police custody after allegedly orchestrating a fatal attack on his daughter’s boyfriend, Ikolo Ochuko, on December 12 at Ugboroke Community.

The 35-year-old victim, who worked as a barber, was assaulted in his salon despite having ended the relationship with Okandeji’s 20-year-old daughter following previous threats. He sustained severe injuries and died eight days later in the hospital.

Several suspects fled the community when news of Ochuko’s death spread.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, has not yet confirmed details of the incident.

The attack reportedly stemmed from Okandeji’s disapproval of his daughter dating a barber, having explicitly warned Ochuko that he didn’t want a barber as an in-law.
