On Friday, a tragedy befell the residents of Abagana Community in the Njikoka local government area of Anambra State when Anthony Kosisochukwu Okafor, 37, sent his 45-year-old older brother, Mr. Emmanuel Okafor, to his premature grave.
It was discovered that the tragic event occurred at approximately 7 p.m. on Friday when Anthony and his late brother, Emmanuel Okafor, argued about sharing food at their Adegbe Village residence in Abagana.
According to information obtained, the younger Okafor killed his older brother by piercing his chest with a stick after a fight between them.
The younger Okafor was taken into custody by members of the state ad hoc security organization, Anambra Vigilante Goup (AVG), and a joint security team from the Abagana Police Division, according to SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Anambra State Police Command, who confirmed the incident on Saturday.
Ikenga further disclosed that the suspect has admitted to fighting with his late brother over food consumption.

The Command’s spokesperson said, “The suspect confessed to having engaged the victim in a fight over a heated argument about using foodstuffs in the house. Kosisochukwu was said to have used a stick to pierce the deceased chest.
“The victim was rushed to the hospital and was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty.”
According to the PPRO, the occurrence was extremely upsetting since it emphasizes how critical it is to resolve family disputes and domestic abuse.
Police added that in order to prevent irreversible effects, the incident highlighted the importance of handling disagreements and emotions in a healthy and productive way.
“The case has been transferred to the Homicide Section of the State Criminal Investigation Department, Awka and shall be charged to court on the conclusion of the investigation”, the PPRO stated.
