A swift and coordinated response by military and police forces successfully thwarted an attempted attack by armed bandits on Tozai village in Isa Local Government Area, Sokoto State, on Monday.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama, around 90 armed bandits on motorcycles stormed the village, attempting to launch an attack.
However, they were met with fierce resistance from security personnel, leading to a gun battle that forced the bandits to retreat.

Sadly, during the exchange of fire, a stray bullet fired by the assailants struck 35-year-old Sule Ummaru, a local resident, as he tried to flee the scene. Makama confirmed that Ummaru was rushed to the General Hospital Isa for treatment but tragically succumbed to his injuries.
In the aftermath of the attack, security forces have ramped up patrols in the area, ensuring heightened vigilance to prevent further incursions and safeguard the local population.
