On January 4, 2025, the Niger State Police arrested three people suspected of being armed robbers and burglars during a raid at a hotel in Minna, the state capital.
The suspects were Jibrin Ndako, 19, from Barikin-Sale; Haruna Abubakar, 20, from Angwan-Kamfani; and Aliyu Abdullahi, 18, from Kpakungu. They were caught around 6:00 pm after police received reliable information about their activities.
According to the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, the raid was carried out by operatives from the Tudun-Wada Division, who targeted a hotel along the Eastern Bye-Pass, Minna, where the suspects were staying.

Upon searching their room, authorities discovered three cutlasses and an industrial iron cutter, tools the suspects reportedly planned to use in committing crimes.
During questioning, Ndako, who had recently completed a prison term for motorcycle theft, admitted to recruiting his accomplices from Agaie. He revealed their intention to break into a provision store in Barikin-Sale, Minna. However, their criminal plan was thwarted by the police’s prompt intervention.
The suspects have been transferred to the State Police Headquarters in Minna for further investigation and will face prosecution.
