Date:

One person was feared killed and three others were injured in a bus accident that occurred in the Adeniji area of Lagos Island on Friday night.

BREAKINGNG gathered that that the commercial bus conveying passengers was involved in a lone accident while traveling along the route.

A pedestrian in the area, Biodun Ogundeji, who witnessed the accident, told our reporter that he narrowly escaped being hit by the bus which suddenly tumbled.

“The bus driver suddenly matched brake while trying to manoeuvre his way despite his speed. It was alarming because everyone was gripped with fear.

“One of the passengers’ head actually burst, he died on the spot,” Ogundeji said.

In a video obtained by our correspondent, the body of a yet-to-be identified man was seen on the floor lying in a pool of blood flowing around his head.

“That very man is dead,” Ogundeji stressed.

Three other persons critically injured were seen around the bus including a woman who was seen with bandage on her leg as she was immediately given a first aid treatment.

Passers-by gathered to sympathise with the victims as traffic also began building up in the area.

The front and back of the bus were severely damaged with glasses shattered on the floor.

The spokesperson for the Lagos State Traffic Authority, Adebayo Taofiq, could not be immediately reached for comments.

But an official of the agency who is not authorised to speak but present at the scene confirmed that four casualties were involved.

“Yes, it is true the accident happened around 8pm and about four persons were involved,” he said.

LASTMA also confirmed the accident in a short post via its handle on X.
