A police inspector, Donfa Chirtip, was tragically killed and his wife, Victoria Chirtip, abducted by gunmen in the Kurmin Kare area of Kachia Local Government Area, Kaduna State.
The incident, which occurred on Friday, was reported by security analyst Zagazola Makama on X.
According to Makama, Inspector Chirtip, who was attached to the Special Protection Unit Base 7, Abuja, was returning from his farmland with his wife when they were ambushed.
His lifeless body was discovered later that evening in a nearby farmland, bearing a deep cut to his neck, as confirmed by security operatives who arrived at the scene.

Preliminary investigations suggest the couple had gone to their farm by motorcycle around 7:00 a.m. and were ambushed on their return journey in the evening.
A medical officer at Doka General Hospital confirmed Inspector Chirtip deceased upon arrival.
Security forces are actively working to locate Victoria Chirtip and apprehend those responsible for the attack.
