A teacher identified as Gbolahan Osinusi, 42, has been arraigned for allegedly defiling a 17-year-old girl (name withheld) in the Ketu-Epe area of Lagos.
BREAKINGNG gathered that the suspect allegedly conspired with a nurse to also abort pregnancies for the victim.
A source, who spoke on condition of anonymity on Sunday, said the girl had been a victim of sexual molestation for about five years as she was been defiled since she was 12 years old until 2023 when she became 17 years old.
The source and complainant, who reported the matter to the police, said the case had been opened at the police station and it was important the matter was heard.
The source said, “The matter was reported at the Festac police station. Osinusi (the suspect) forced the girl to swear on oath not to tell anyone else she will die. He was always taking the girl to a nurse for abortion drugs to be administered on her anytime she was pregnant.”
While confirming the incident, the Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, said on Monday that the matter had been transferred from the Festac Division to the Gender Unit of the state police command on September 30, 2024.
Hundeyin further said, “The complainant, who reported the matter, alleged that one Gbolahan Osinusi ‘m’ aged 42, a teacher at a school in Ketu-Epe, Lagos State and also the guardian to her 12 years old had been having sexual intercourse with her since the survivor was 12 years old till December 2023 when she was 17 years.”
He added, “The said Osinusi has been charged to court on October 16, 2024, while the said nurse, Mariam Falolu, is currently admitted for medical attention at the General Hospital Ketu-Epe. She will be charged to court as soon as possible.”
