Troops arrest Bello Turji female ammunition courier in Zamfara

Date:

The forces of Sector 2 Joint Task Force North West, under Operation Fansan Yamma, successfully captured a 25-year-old woman, Shamsiyya Ahadu, who is suspected of acting as an ammunition courier.

This development was revealed in a statement issued on Sunday in Gusau, Zamfara State, by Lt. Col. Abubakar Abdullahi, the Coordinator of the Joint Media Coordination Centre for the operation.

Ahadu was detained on December 28 in the Badarawa area of Shinkafi Local Government Area, along with her accomplice, a motorcyclist named Ahmed Husaini.

During the arrest, the suspects were found in possession of 764 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition and six magazines, which were destined for terrorist leader Bello Turji’s camp.

The statement detailed that Ahadu’s arrest followed intelligence reports that highlighted the movement of terrorist logistics along the route from Kware to Badarawa in Shinkafi.

In response, the troops of Operation Fansan Yamma swiftly set up a roadblock, leading to the capture of both suspects.

Currently, the suspects are undergoing questioning by the relevant authorities.

The statement reaffirmed the commitment of the military to dismantling terrorist networks and halting the illegal transport of arms and ammunition within the operational area.

It also called on the public to continue providing vital information that could lead to the capture of wanted terrorists and their collaborators.

The statement concluded by expressing gratitude for the ongoing local support that has been instrumental in advancing the operation’s goals.
