The Fika Divisional Police Headquarters of Yobe State Police Command, have arrested 35-year-old Hadiza Mamuda from Garin Abba Village in Fika local government area, following the alleged killing of her husband.
The incident, according to police, arose from a heated argument between the couple concerning food items.
Dungus Abdulkarim, the Police Public Relations Officer for the Yobe Command, confirmed the arrest in Damaturu. He stated that the suspect allegedly used a log of wood to fatally assault the victim.

An investigation into the matter is actively ongoing, and Mamuda is expected to be charged in court upon its conclusion.
The victim, a polygamous man, leaves behind two wives and five children, including those from his marriage with the suspect, and a grieving family.
In light of this tragic event, the state’s Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Ado, underscored the urgent need for community-led intervention initiatives to combat domestic violence and abuse within marriages.
He further appealed to religious leaders to intensify their public awareness campaigns on the severe consequences of physical violence in marital relationships.
