Date:

Music lovers on Thursday had the time of their lives with wonderful performances by Femi Kuti, Bella Shmurda, and CDQ at the ongoing ‘Felabration’ musical concert at the New Afrika Shrine in Lagos.

The concert, an annual celebration of the Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, themed “Look and Laugh” started on October 14 and is billed to end on October 20.

Femi Kuti performed his hit singles such as “Bang  Bang Bang”, “Sorry Sorry”, “Truth don end”,  while Bella Shmurda sang his hits which included “New Born Fela”  and “Cash app”.

Some fun seekers, who spoke to NAN, expressed excitement in witnessing the live performances of some of their favourite artistes.

Siji Bello, a student, said mucis helps in relaxing his body and soul.

“I had never had the chance to see Femi Kuti perform live before, so, as soon as I found out about the event, I made sure to be here. His performance has been incredible. I’m enjoying every moment and wish it wouldn’t end so I could experience more of it,” he said.

Amina Momoh, who attended the event with her female friends, emphasised that new artistes should focus on mastering live performances rather than relying on miming.

“The new generation of artistes need to learn how to perform live instead of miming when on stage.

“There’s a unique energy in live performances, as Femi Kuti has shown us tonight. We’ve been dancing all night long because live shows bring a different vibe,” said Momoh.

Joseph Atah expressed how uplifting the performance was for him.

“This performance has been amazing and has helped me mentally, especially since the last few days have been tough. It really helped to calm my spirits.

“Events like this have a way of changing one’s mood, and I’m glad I made it, even though I was hesitant due to the distance,” he said.
