1,000 Women in Nasarawa Benefit from First Lady of Nigeria’s N50m Donation

Date:

In an effort to ease the economic hardship faced by citizens, Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has donated N50,000 each to 1,000 underprivileged women in Nasarawa State.

During the presentation at the Government House in Lafia on Thursday, Mrs. Tinubu, represented by the Nasarawa State First Lady, Silifat Abdullahi-Sule, stated that the initiative was designed to alleviate the struggles of rural women across the state’s 13 Local Government Areas.

“Senator Oluremi Tinubu has provided N50,000 to each of the 1,000 women selected. This empowerment is specifically aimed at grassroots women to reduce hardship and support their economic activities,” she said. Mrs. Tinubu emphasized that the initiative targets only women in rural areas, while similar efforts are underway nationwide.

She encouraged the recipients to use the funds wisely to improve their livelihoods and honor the intent behind the program.

One beneficiary, Hanatu Luka from Obi LGA, expressed gratitude, stating that the financial aid would not only bring relief but also boost her business.

Earlier in June, Mrs. Tinubu distributed food supplies worth millions of Naira to over 1,200 internally displaced persons, people living with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups in Nasarawa to combat hunger.
