APC orchestrating crises in PDP, LP, NNPP out of fear – Momodu

Date:

Prominent PDP leader and veteran journalist Dele Momodu has made grave charges against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), alleging the party is intentionally causing division within the opposition.

Momodu claims that as part of its goal to weaken and destabilise its opponents, the APC is escalating conflicts inside the PDP, LP, and NNPP.

In a candid interview with Arise Television, Momodu voiced worries that the APC’s apparent goal of controlling the political system was driving Nigeria closer to being a one-party state.

He emphasised that the ongoing crises within opposition parties were a deliberate attempt to undermine the democratic process and consolidate power under the APC’s rule.

According to Momodu: “Nigeria is obviously moving in a direction of a one-party state.

“The ruling party, APC, is so scared of opposition that right now crisis are being orchestrated from party to party, especially the leading opposition parties like PDP, Labour Party, and NNPP. It’s obvious what is going on.”

He also voiced concern about the uncertainty of the situation, stating, “No one is in doubt about that. How this will end, I have no idea. So, we are watching.”

Highlighting the transient nature of power, Momodu cautioned those currently aligned with the APC.

“The maximum they would do is eight years, so after that, what next? It’s not about how long, it’s about how well.

“That’s why I’m advising a lot of people now who are holding onto Asiwaju; he would think they love him—No!

“It’s self-preservation because they lost out in one party, they ran to Asiwaju, and now they are using him as an umbrella when they should be holding the broom,” he said.
