Atiku would exit ADC if Jonathan joins party – Ex-PDP Spokesman, Odeyemi

Date:

Former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Diran Odeyemi, on Tuesday suggested that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar might leave the African Democratic Congress (ADC) if former President Goodluck Jonathan joins the party.

Speaking on News Central’s Politics HQ, Odeyemi described the ADC as “Atiku’s Disciples Congress” and cautioned that the party could become a political trap for any presidential aspirant aligned with Atiku.

According to Odeyemi: “ADC’s alignment with Atiku Abubakar makes it a political trap for presidential aspirants.

“ADC is Atiku’s Disciples Congress, he moved his people to that place. If any presidential hopeful joins the ADC today, that would be the end of his dealings with the ADC.

“We don’t have to be sentimental about it, if Atiku was so smart to pin down Obi as his vice-presidential candidate, he would have been the president today.

“If he is the right person that would make the decision that this is what I stand for, Ayu would have been removed according to the demands of the G-5.

“I’m not sure the people who are strategizing for him studied the situation before he embarks on any decision.

“The way I want to see it now is if Jonathan will come to ADC, and if Jonathan comes, Atiku will leave ADC, just take that.”
