Tinubu approves ₦16.7bn for urgent reconstruction of flood-ravaged Mokwa bridge

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has authorized the disbursement of ₦16.7 billion for the swift reconstruction of the Mokwa Bridge in Niger State, which collapsed following heavy flooding in May.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, disclosed the development in Abakaliki on Saturday after holding talks with the Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi.

Idris, who is currently leading a federal delegation on a three-day inspection and citizens’ engagement tour in the South-East, explained that the president’s approval reflects his administration’s commitment to addressing critical infrastructure challenges without delay.
