Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court in Abuja has directed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to release businesswoman and socialite, Aisha Achimugu, within a 24-hour timeframe.
The judge further instructed both parties to return to the court on May 2, 2025, to provide an update on the enforcement of the order.

This follows an earlier directive by Justice Ekwo on Monday, which required Achimugu to voluntarily present herself to the EFCC in relation to an ongoing probe involving allegations of money laundering and other financial crimes.

Upon her compliance with the order, the court mandated the EFCC to appear in court with her on Wednesday, April 30, to give a status report.
Breakingng.com had earlier reported that Achimugu was apprehended by EFCC operatives around 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
She is under investigation for alleged involvement in conspiracy, fraudulent financial activities, money laundering, corruption, and unlawful acquisition of assets.
Although she had been previously detained and interrogated by the anti-graft agency, she was subsequently granted administrative bail.
However, the EFCC later accused her of breaching her bail conditions and declared her a fugitive.
