President Tinubu will address the session as the special guest of honour, while the programme will also feature remarks from former presiding officers and the conferral of honours on chosen legislators.
“The programme will also feature goodwill messages from former presiding officers of the National Assembly and the conferment of National Honours on select legislators by Mr President,” Rotimi Jr. said.
This year’s theme is “26 Years of Democracy: Renewing Our Commitment to National Development.” The joint session is expected to be a momentous event, reflecting on the legislative arm’s role in entrenching democratic principles since 1999.
Rotimi urged Nigerians to embrace the core values of Democracy Day and use the occasion to recommit themselves to the nation’s progress.
