The Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi, has raised alarm over the worsening security situation in Nigeria, describing the country as being in a state of crisis.
Speaking at the 60th birthday celebration of former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, Sanusi lamented that Nigerians are now forced to coexist with bandits and Boko Haram insurgents.

According to Sanusi: “For all those who are saying we have to be careful before we get into a crisis, please wake up.
“We are living with bandits and Boko Haram; we are already there.
“We are already in crisis, it has already happened, the question is how do we get out of it.”
Sanusi also held the nation’s leaders responsible for the widespread, multi-dimensional poverty in Nigeria.
The former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor criticised the country’s elite, saying they remain disconnected from the harsh realities of poverty faced by the majority of Nigerians.
