Hon. James Faleke, the lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, delivered a resounding victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) at his polling unit during Saturday’s local government elections in Lagos State.
Faleke cast his vote at Polling Unit 021, Olaleke Taiwo/Morgan Junction, in Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), where the APC dominated both the chairmanship and councillorship polls.
According to the official results, the APC secured 162 votes in the chairmanship election, while the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) garnered only 2 votes.
In the councillorship race, the APC won with 163 votes, leaving the PDP with just 1 vote. No invalid ballots were recorded.
Faleke commended the electorate for their orderly conduct and praised security operatives for maintaining peace. However, he faulted the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) for late deployment of personnel, noting that election officials did not arrive at the polling unit until after noon.
“I commend the voters for their patience and peaceful disposition. But LASIEC must do better. Elections should not start this late,” Faleke said.
A visit to other polling units within Ojodu LCDA showed similar patterns, with the APC coasting to victory in all the units monitored. The exercise was generally peaceful, with concerns over voter apathy.
At Polling Unit 062 (Yakoyo Market), the APC won the chairmanship race with 49 votes, while the PDP got none. Two votes were voided. For councillorship, APC secured 50 votes with one voided ballot.

In PU 087 (Olaleke Taiwo), the APC won both elections convincingly, scoring 14 votes in the chairmanship and 14 in the councillorship race. The PDP recorded no votes in either contest, and there were no voided ballots.
At PU 086 (middle of Olaleke Taiwo), the APC secured 10 votes in both the chairmanship and councillorship elections, with PDP scoring zero. There were no voided votes.
