FG reopens recruitment portal for civil defence, immigration, others

Date:

The Federal Government has announced the reopening of the online recruitment portal for Nigeria’s paramilitary services on Monday, July 21, 2025, following a temporary suspension aimed at enhancing platform efficiency.

This update was made public through a statement posted on the official X (formerly Twitter) handle of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) on Sunday.

Applicants who had begun their application process before the suspension are now urged to revisit the portal and complete their submissions via https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng.

“Please be kindly informed that applicants who successfully initiated their applications are advised to retrieve their applications and complete the applications they have initiated. The system will reopen on Monday, July 21st, 2025,” the statement read in part.

The CDCFIB, which manages recruitment for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS), Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), and Federal Fire Service (FFS), temporarily paused the process on July 16 to implement key system upgrades.

These technical improvements were intended to address user complaints and ensure a smoother application experience amid overwhelming traffic and frequent platform failures reported earlier.

Originally scheduled to begin on June 26, the recruitment exercise was postponed to July 14 due to system overloads that resulted in repeated crashes and incomplete submissions.

The board then opted to suspend the process entirely for maintenance.

The recruitment exercise is open to qualified Nigerians under three primary categories: the General Duty/Superintendent Cadre, the Inspectorate Cadre, and the Assistant Cadre—each corresponding to specific academic qualifications ranging from SSCE to university degrees and recognized professional certificates.

Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth, aged between 18 and 35 years, and must satisfy physical requirements, including a minimum height of 1.65m for males and 1.60m for females, and a minimum chest measurement of 0.87m for male candidates.

All applicants are required to submit a valid medical fitness certificate from a government hospital, and those with criminal backgrounds or financial misconduct will be disqualified.

Only shortlisted candidates will proceed to the next phase of recruitment, and the Board emphasized that no third-party representatives are authorized to reach out to applicants.

Applicants are reminded that the recruitment process is entirely free of charge.
