Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has disbanded the state’s executive council.
The announcement was made by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, who noted that the decision followed the conclusion of the executive council’s 12th meeting held on Wednesday.

In the same statement, Kula revealed that Alia had appointed Moses Atagher—a former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Benue—as his new Chief of Staff.
Governor Alia thanked the outgoing commissioners for their service over the past two years and encouraged those who would not be returning to remain engaged with the party and continue playing a role in advancing the state’s progress.
He also clarified that only the commissioners were affected by the dissolution, while the Chief of Staff appointment was a separate development.
